I am the Lord of the Underworld. Messenger of the Gods. Keeper of the Flames. I welcome you
once more to my domain. I have had many names: Yama, Agni, Prometheus, Adam. I was the first. I
came to rule over this place not because I was given something that you were not or because I have something that you lack. When I died, I came here and became sovereign by simple fact that I was the only one here. My power comes not from any divine providence, but from my knowledge that this power must be mine, because it can me no one else’s. It is my force of will to achieve my full potential that is my strength here.

And just as I became a God in this world, so can you become one in the next.

Our purpose has, from the very beginning, been to demonstrate the importance of the individual’s
position in the universe. By helping the individual to view the past not as a burden, but as a stepping stone to a bright future, we hoped to bring their awareness to the present. We hoped to bring their attention to the limitless potential of this very moment. Just as the picture they drew for me burned in my fire, in every moment a new reality can be created. Or destroyed. The choice lies with the individual, and we want to remind everyone of this fact that is at once filled with grave import, and ultimately and universally freeing. Fire is a door of sorts between the world of the living and the one beyond. Sacrifices, offerings, the bodies of the dead are laid on the pyre in the world of the living where they burn, slowly leaving that world and coming here to sustain we that live on the other side. In return, we send through the flames heat and light. Energy which blesses those on the other side with the energy they need to achieve their needs, their desires, and their dreams.

It is said that every fire has a distinct function in linking our worlds together, and I believe this to be true.

I believe that we are all connected: through the flames, through our actions, our relationships,
through the most insignificant of gestures. We feed and grow from one another. It is by realizing our power not only over ourselves, but also the individuals who surround us, that we achieve divinity. Moving on the dance floor, waiting at the bar, smoking a cigarette outside. Even in the most unlikely of places we have the power to change the course of the entire universe. The trick, which we endeavor to demonstrate to all those who come to us, is to realize this power. To seize it, and to take control of your destiny.
