The Dionysian

‘Can I take my blindfold off now ?’
‘Why?’ I'm asking him
‘I want to see..’
‘To see what? I blindfolded you, you saw the place, you saw were you are, you saw who
am I..'
‘They told me to follow the white rabbit......where is the matrix? ... ‘
- I’m thinking that that’s a different film -
‘Patience, my friend’ I’m telling him...
‘I want to see the matrix’ he tells me, while peeking from his blindfold.
‘Real is what you live, not what you see’ I tell him,
‘Patience can give you the matrix‘ or any matrix.
He was drunk.. I guess when he heard about the white rabbit, he was looking for a hot
Trinity goddess, but we only had a deceitful Dionysus in our show.
Sorry man..

As I’m about to receive my next audience member, apparently a friend of the previous guy,
sees me, and almost shouts ‘No man, I’m out of here.‘
‘Okay, but please keep your voice down’
We were sharing the same space with a a filming crew, they were shooting some video
things. The director of the filming crew shouts ‘Will you SHUT the FUCK UP?’
She was rude. The guy turns to her saying ‘What did you say?’
I’m trying to calm her down, and take that guy out of the space.
Did I mention that we are a theatre group?

I’ve got 4 people in my station. They are blindfolded. I’m guiding them to sense each other.
They are smiling. We hear from the distance, Alice shouting to an audience member: ‘Get
down on your knees. NOW. WHY? Because you deserve it!’ She spanks them softly.
They are laughing. We are laughing. We are having one of our best nights ever. I can feel
the same for them in theirs. ‘It was incredible’ a woman tells me after the show. ‘Could I
have pushed your boundaries more’ I ask? ‘Definitely’ she replies. But that is a question of
sensing people and their limits. This kind of shows, are shaped by the audience member.
What I call limits, emerge from the audience member. They participate, and together we
create a moment. We share that moment. And we enjoy it equally. They left smiling. I did
too.
